Morzine-Avoriaz is the most northerly of the French alpine winter ski holiday resorts. Thanks to a unique microclimate midway between Lake Geneva and Mont Blanc, the ski area benefits from much higher average snowfall levels than other winter destinations in the French Alps. This enormous international ski area – with Morzine its capital - spans more than 650km of pistes across 13 resorts in France and Switzerland. It includes the neighbouring, well-known, winter ski stations of Avoriaz, Les Gets and Chatel. Morzine is perfectly situated to explore this truly giant and high-tech ski area. From beginners to experts and all in between - ski or snowboard - there are a huge variety of slopes to suit all ages, abilities and interests. Travelling to Morzine in the winter ski season
Morzine is perhaps the easiest ski resort in France to access from the UK and Ireland. It is the closest major alpine resort to the gateway to the western Alps, with Geneva airport only 75km away. A swift transfer time of less than an hour and a half means it’s possible to fly out early morning and be skiing in Morzine by lunchtime.

Activities include parapenting, heritage tours/visits, snowmobiling, tobogganing, snowshoeing and ice-diving beneath the nearby Lake Montriond. Morzine also benefits from a multi-million euro large indoor swimming pool complex and world-class ice rink.

Morzine is a lively French ski resorts with a hip après ski scene. Several hotspots around the Pleney base get busy as the slopes empty, before the party moves on to other establishments including Bar Robinson, Dixie Bar, Le Crépuscule, Tibetan, Cavern Bar and Café Chaud to mention a few. Morzine’s 2 nightclubs stay open until around 4am!

In winter you’ll find a lively and varied programme of events for adults and families alike. Christmas and the New Year in the French Alps are always special - when Morzine stages concerts, festive markets and live music with fireworks. In March, the Rock the Pistes Music Festival takes place throughout the Portes de Soleil. In April party away at Morzine’s Basscamp Sessions Festival.
