ALPINE FLORA & GARDEN HOLIDAYS

My family have been coming to Morzine for over 20 years and love the area for its outstanding natural beauty.

Scheduled to catch the alpine spring at its glorious height, the aim of our alpine flora holidays is to help enthusiasts to discover the wonders of alpine plants and flowers in their natural setting as well as visiting alpine gardens.

We are strongly committed to protecting and preserving the natural alpine environment. We oppose the taking of samples from the wild and seek to promote outdoor activities which operate in an environmentally sustainable manner.

All you will need to bring with you are some stout walking shoes, a small rucksack, waterproofs and a camera - you won't want to forget a single moment. With a comprehensive knowledge of the area we ensure a thoroughly researched and well-planned itinerary.

A typical week could include the following:

  1.

From Morzine we take the Super Morzine gondola and chairlift high up into the mountains at an altitude of 1,800m. From here we take an easy route down alpine meadows and forest trails to the beautiful ancient goat village of Les Lindarets. There is time to explore the village before moving on to Lake Montriond via the impressive Ardent falls. We have a picnic lunch by Lake Montriond next to a safe swimming area. The afternoon is spent leisurely by the lake before returning to Morzine for dinner.

  2.

We take the spectacular mountain crossing from Morzine to the listed village of Samoëns, where we visit the famous alpine gardens. From here a short drive takes us to the spectacular Sixt-Fer-à-Cheval national park where we spend the afternoon on an easy guided walk through some of the most spectacular scenery and representative flora of the medium and high Alps.

  3. Today we visit the medieval walled village of Yvoire on the shores of Lake Geneva. Here you will find a poetic garden created on the former site of the walled castle kitchen garden, a maze with the theme of the 5 senses and a cloister garden of medicinal and aromatic plants, old roses and espaliered fruit trees.
